Dialup NetworkingMost Microsoft Windows machines include the Dialup Networking program. If you have earliest version of Windows 95 and can't find it, you can download it from my FTP serverDialup Networking program can usually be found in the My Computer icon from your desktop. If you can't find it there, try the following:
The following examples may not exactly match your version of Dialup Networking, but the procedures and information should be about the same. |
Make New ConnectionWe select Dialup Networking. If this is your first dialup connection, it may launch right into the setup procedure. If not, simply select Make New Connection to continue. The first line asks for the name for the computer you are dialing. On this line type MTG EnterPrizes. This line does not require perfect syntax. The second line refers to your modem. There are literally thousands of modems available, so don't be concerned if yours doesn't match mine. If this line says nothing, then you may need to add a modem or install the one you have properly. The Configure button is for this purpose. Otherwise, just leave this line alone. ![]() Once you are finished, hit the Next button. |
Dialup Internet Phone NumbersThis is the phone number your modem is dialing to. I have installed several numbers in the Treasure Valley to help you get the fastest possible connection. My digital 56k Modems can run as fast as any standard phone modem you may have, but certain FCC regulations have put limits on standard phone lines.
![]() Of course these numbers only work if you subscribe to my dialup internet services. If you would like to sign up, give me a call at (208)467-6236 or email me. |
Finish Internet Access Dialup ConnectionThe final screen needs a simple tap to the Finish button. After you do, a new icon should appear in the Dial-up Networking window.![]() ![]() Now, to finish up the internet access dialup connection.
