Nampa Clean Sweep wraps up Saturday
NAMPA -- It'll be clean fun.
This year's Operation Clean Sweep, a joint effort of the city of Nampa, Nampa Neighborhood Housing Services and North Nampa Neighborhood Association, will wrap up Saturday with three special projects:
>> Free Dump Day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at BFI, 424 N. Sugar Ave. Large appliances can be delivered if the compressors have been removed.
>> Landfill fees will be waived for Canyon County residents at Pickle Butte landfill (not accepted are lead-based paints, bulk liquids, freon, oil, oil filters and commercial waste).
>> Senior citizens and disabled residents who need help cleaning up their property are encouraged to call Nampa Neighborhood Housing at 467-7336.
BFI will continue to pick up furniture, carpet, tree limbs and various household items until Saturday, as it has all week long.
Additional activities will take place in north Nampa.
"We've targeted specific houses in the area," said Lynn McConnell, who serves on the board of the North Nampa Residents Development Group. "We'll be doing anything from doing repair work, yard cleanup, planting, pulling weeds, hauling off trash."      Call Nampa Neighborhood Housing at 467-7336 if you are interested in volunteering.
