Movie Theaters
Choosing a theater depends on the movie I'm
planning to see. If I expect great scenery, I want the big screen.
Otherwise, I can just rent a video later. Some theaters have better
seating, while others have better prices. A few even have dinner
with your movie.
Edwards Cinema
Edwards Cinema has a great selection of
first run movies. Having 18% of all indoor screens in the US gives
them the buying power to get the best shows.
Stadium seating makes every seat a great
seat. People in front of you, are barely noticeable, even if you're
short. The surround sound provides the full impact the director
wanted you to experience.

The Majestic Cinemas uses Digital Cinema.
Pristine. Crisp. Vibrant. Exactly how the Director wanted you to see
their movie.
Another stadium seating Theater. It makes
every seat a great seat. People in front of you, are barely
noticeable, even if you're short. The surround sound is great.

The Reel theater fills a unique niche. When
you want to see a movie on the big screen, but don't care if you see
it immediately, this is a great place to save money on entertainment.

Northernlights Cinema Grill
Have dinner and a movie at the same time.
The old theater in Karcher Mall has been brought back to life.
Family friendly during the day, adults only by night, when they start
serving drinks.
Affordable movies and the food is pretty good too.

The Boise Flicks!
The Boise Flicks theater is a cozy little
complex of small theaters. They show a lot of film festival type
movies. The snack bar has a nice mix of real food including
sandwiches, wraps and salads.

The Overland Park Cinema specializes in family
friendly movies. Priced right for families too.

Parma Motor Vu Drive In Theater
Drive In theaters still exist. Of course the
schedule is limited to warm weather and evenings (for obvious reasons).
Make sure your FM radio works, as it is your sound system.
Located just outside of Parma Idaho.

intimate theater showing live performances.

Contemporary live theatre that reflects and

Idaho Event Centers
Idaho has some great event centers. We can watch games, concerts
and even rodeos indoors.
Nampa Idaho Center
The Nampa Idaho Center, not only the new
home of the Snake River Stampede Rodeo, but one of the most versatile
and accessible event centers in the West.
They host Sporting Events, Concerts, Trade
Shows in the main building. Another event can take place in the
outdoor arena while an Equestrian Event is going on at the horse
park.
The Nampa Idaho Center is conveniently
located just off the Garrity Exit in Nampa Idaho, only 15 miles from
Boise Idaho.

Nampa Civic Center
The Nampa Civic Center is Idaho's second
largest full service Convention Center and Performing Arts Complex.
The Nampa Civic Center hosts over 750 events annually.
Located near downtown Nampa Idaho.

Taco Bell Arena
The Taco Bell Arena seats 13,000 people for
concerts, performance events, sporting events, family shows,
circuses, ice shows, conventions, conferences and trade shows.
Once known as the BSU Pavilion, located on
the Boise State University (BSU) campus in Boise Idaho.

Morrison Center For the Performing Arts
The Velma V. Morrison Center is one of
Idaho's best Performing Arts complex. The acoustical properties are
incredible. The building can actually be tuned to the performance.
The furthest seat from the stage is a mere 130 feet.

Knitting Factory Concert House
The Knitting Factory Concert House (was Big
Easy), with a seating capacity of about 1,000 people, features top
performers, sporting events and dance parties. Also, available for
private parties.
Alterknit Lounge next to main club serves
drinks and great food prior to the concerts.

Qwest Arena
This event center is attached to the Grove Hotel.
It is also the home of the Idaho Stampede Basketball and the Idaho Steelheads
Hockey teams. Used to be the Bank of America Center.
Located in downtown Boise on Capital Blvd.

Music Events
Gene Harris Jazz Festival
The Gene Harris Jazz Festival has a long
tradition of bringing the world’s top jazz acts to Boise. The
festival also offers elementary, junior high, high school and college
student clinics and competitions. All Gene Harris Jazz Festival
proceeds benefit music scholarships at Boise State University.

location in the Boise Idaho and Nampa Idaho areas.

Opera Idaho
Opera Idaho has been bringing Opera to Idaho
since 1973.
Opera Idaho plays their performances at the
Morrison Center.

Music Theatre of Idaho provides
opportunities for people in musical theatre production. They also
present the community with professional quality, family-centered,
affordable live musical theatre.
The Music Theater of Idaho performs at the
Nampa Civic Center in Nampa Idaho.

Idaho Open Fiddle Contest
The Idaho Open Fiddle Contest is a
certified regional contest. Many of the Junior Jammers hang out here
as well. If you'd like to get your sweetheart a fiddle-gram, this
is your chance.

Western Idaho Fair
The Western Idaho Fair grounds are the home
of the Ada County Fair and many other events.
Located in Boise Idaho.

Canyon County Fair
The Canyon County Fair is home to the
Caldwell Night Rodeo. They have events throughout the year also.

Idaho Rodeos
Snake River Stampede
The Snake River Stampede is one of the top
12 professional rodeos (out of 800). This annual event has been
entertaining people since 1911.
Located at the Nampa Idaho Center.

Caldwell Night Rodeo
The Caldwell Night Rodeo is "where the
cowboys are the stars!"
Located in Caldwell Idaho.

Miss Rodeo Idaho
Miss Rodeo represents and promotes the
great sport or Idaho Rodeo. She also helps people learn about rodeo
traditions.
Each Rodeo Queen competes at their
respective rodeo.

Idaho Shakespeare Festival
The Idaho Shakespeare Festival has been
a Boise tradition for at least 30 years. The out door amphitheater
provides a unique way to experience Shakespeare at it's finest.

Snake River Dayz
A Nampa tradition, the week leading up to
the Snake River Stampede includes daily events. Lot's of food and
entertainment for the whole family.

Firebird Raceway
Car racing fans can always expect some fun
at Firebird Raceway. After 40 years, they are still going strong,
AA/Fuel Dragsters, AA/Funny Cars and Outlaw Pro Modifieds.
Located in the southern foothills of Emmett.

Car racing at an ASA Member Track. The
Meridian Speedway offers 13 different divisions of competition.
Located just off the freeway in Meridian

The Boise Art Museum began in 1931. With
nearly 35,000 square feet of exhibits, you can always find something
interesting to see.
Located near downtown Boise in Julia Davis

The invisible Idahoans. The museum's
purpose is to build bridges between cultures to explore issues that
affect Americans of all cultures and ethnicities.

The Warhawk Air Museum teaches and preserves
World War II history. Explore aviation history from the advent of
flight through the space age. The Warhawk Air Museum encourages an
educational experience about the technology, culture, and social
